Tulsi wrote her first poem when she was seven or eight. She didn’t know that the short sentences she had written were in a form called a poem but her mother’s delight told her that she had done something special. Her poems began to be published individually and she imagined that one day there would be a slim volume of poems with her name on it. Instead, to her surprise, she began to write literary fiction and then prose. She still dreams of returning to poetry
